American Meat Institute

AMI is a national trade association that represents companies that process 95 percent of red meat and 70 percent of turkey in the U.S. and their suppliers throughout America. Headquartered in metropolitan Washington, DC, AMI keeps its fingers on the pulse of legislation, regulation and media activity that impacts the meat and poultry industry and provides rapid updates and analyses to its members to help them stay informed. In addition, AMI conducts scientific research through its Foundation designed to help meat and poultry companies improve their plants and their products. The Institute's many meetings and educational seminars also provide excellent networking and information-sharing opportunities for members of the industry. California League of
Food Processors

The California League of Food Processors is devoted primarily to furthering the interests of the food processing industry before the California State Legislature and regulatory agencies, and is also a major representative for the California food industry at the Federal level. CLFP's purpose is to foster a favorable environment for the growth and strength of the industry within the state.  In doing so, California processors can continue to provide consumers with safe and wholesome food produced in an environmentally sound and responsible manner. Current membership includes the most powerful brand names in the United States food business, as well as the largest producers of private label and institutional food products. Member companies are primarily canners, freezers, dryers, and dehydrators of fruits and vegetables.  Additional processor members include snack foods, juice bottlers, and specialty processors of a variety of food products. Members operate over 150 processing plants located throughout the State of California.  In addition to the active company membership, over 250 industry suppliers are included as affiliate members and serve as important participants in CLFP. International Dairy Foods Association

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), Washington, D.C., represents the nation's dairy manufacturing and marketing industries and their suppliers, with a membership of 550 companies representing a $110-billion a year industry. IDFA's 220 dairy processing members run more than 600 plant operations, and range from large multi-national organizations to single-plant companies. Together they represent more than 85% of the milk, cultured products, cheese and frozen desserts produced and marketed in the United States.

International HACCP Alliance

The International HACCP Alliance was developed on March 25, 1994, to provide a uniform program to assure safer meat and poultry products. It is housed within the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University.

National Association for
Workforce Development Professionals

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) is a professional association for individuals working in employment and training and related programs. NAWDP’s nearly 4,000 members represent a broad cross section of workforce development, both geographically and by segments of the system. NAWDP serves as a voice for the profession, across programs and geographic areas and strives to meet the individual professional development needs of the membership.

National Meat Association

National Meat Association is a non-profit trade association. Since 1946, NMA has represented meat packers and processors, equipment manufacturers and food suppliers who provide services to the meat industry. The association has members throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Australia and Mexico.  The organization was born when Western States Meat Packers Association (WSMPA) and Pacific Coast Meat Association joined together in 1982 as Western States Meat Association (WSMA).  WSMA gradually grew in prominence and membership until NMA was formed in 1995.  The association has since gained recognition by furthering its influence in legislation and welcoming many new members from the East and elsewhere, while maintaining a grassroots approach.  NMA members are committed to safe food, high-quality production, and excellent service and supplies.

Southwest Meat Association

SMA is an organization created to make a difference for its members by initiating opportunities, resolving problems and thus helping allow our member companies to earn a reasonable return on investment. It is understood that the primary focus of our member companies is to produce products that meet or exceed consumer expectations in regards to product safety, nutrition and value.  Since 1957, SMA has been a leader in representing meat packers and processors in Texas and the surrounding states.  In recent years, its membership has grown to include firms from across the nation that recognize the value SMA delivers.  SMA’s staff remains at its members’ disposal to assist with a wide variety of technical and regulatory challenges, as well as to provide industry-wide leadership on issues that impact meat companies.

The Poultry Federation

The Poultry Federation (TPF) is a nonprofit trade organization that relies on membership support to continue its representation of the poultry industry.  The company is a voice for the industry in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.  Companies that supply services and/or products to poultry and egg companies are invited to join TPF in strengthening the poultry industry by becoming a TPF allied member.

Texas Association for Food Protection

The Texas Association for Food Protection (TAFP) is an affiliate to the International Association for Food Protection. TAFP started 28 years ago to serve the dairy industry in Texas, focusing on plant sanitation, pasteurized milk control training and food safety. Currently the association includes members from all areas of the food industry and in addition to the dairy and meat industry, includes retailers and academia throughout the State of Texas and bordering states. TAFP membership includes more than 70 members. Additionally, over 100 food industry professionals attend the annual meeting held every June in Austin, TX. Some 50 members attend a yearly short course on laboratory methods, organized in conjunction with the Texas Department of State Health Services. Visit the TAFP website »

United Fresh

United Fresh Produce Association is the industry's leading trade association committed to driving the growth and success of produce companies and their partners. United Fresh represents the interests of member companies throughout the global, fresh produce supply chain, including family-owned, private and publicly traded businesses as well as regional, national and international companies.  The association was founded in 1904 to represent the produce industry, and recently took the name United Fresh as a result of the 2006 merger of the United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association and the International Fresh-Cut Produce Association. United Fresh will continue the shared mission of IFPA and UFFVA to promote the growth and success of produce companies and their partners. As fresh-cut and other forms of value-added processing continue to fuel industry growth in meeting consumer demand for high quality, convenient produce, the association will continue to provide the highest level of expertise and management support for members in these critical areas.

US Poultry & Egg Association

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association is the world's largest and most active poultry organization. They represent the entire industry as an "All Feather" association. Membership includes producers and processors of broilers, turkeys, ducks, eggs, and breeding stock, as well as allied companies. Formed in 1947, the association has affiliations in 27 states, member companies worldwide, and sponsors the International Poultry Expo.  Above all, the company holds to its vision statement to, “represent its poultry and egg members through research, education, communications, and technical services.”

International Association
for Food Protection

The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) represents a broad range of members with a singular focus — protecting the global food supply. Within the association, one will find educators, government officials, microbiologists, food industry executives and quality control professionals who are involved in all aspects of growing, storing, transporting, processing and preparing all types of foods.  Working together, IAFP members (representing more than 50 countries) help the association achieve its mission through networking, educational programs, journals, career opportunities and numerous other resources. All of this is best summed up in the IAFP’s mission statement –to provide food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information on protecting the food supply.
