Closing the Gaps in Food Safety Training
Results from the Global Food Safety Training Survey
Download the results and recommendations of this in-depth survey of food manufacturers and processors regarding their food safety training needs, successes, and challenges. The Global Food Safety Training Survey sampled more than 25,000 companies of all sizes across a wide range food sectors including beverage, dairy, meat, retail, packaged foods, produce, and bakery.
This 21-page report, supported by more than a dozen detailed charts and graphs, describes key insights from the survey including:
- Training content is not sufficiently engaging for younger workers
- “Lack of refresher training” is the top auditor-cited training deficiency
- 44% of companies create an exposure by not training contract and temporary workers as stringently on food safety
The survey revealed near universal gaps across the food industry. But importantly, this report provides practical solutions that work. This survey also serves as a means for companies to benchmark their program against their peers.
The Global Food Safety Training Survey is a joint research project of Campden BRI, SQF Institute, BRC, Alchemy Systems, SGS, and TSI.
