Dam That Cancer
The Flatwater Foundation is a nonprofit helping families in the Austin area coping with cancer. During the annual event “Dam That Cancer” over $170,000 was raised for families in the Austin area. Alchemists assisted with setup for the event, helping with the auction, as well as cheering on athletes and carrying paddleboards for participants.
Austin Animal Center
Austin Animal Center, the largest municipal animal shelter in Central Texas, provides shelter to 23,000 animals annually and serves Travis County. Alchemists volunteered at the shelter walking dogs, caring for cats and cleaning the facilities.
Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children and their families. Alchemists planned and prepared a homemade meal for families who were staying at the house while their children were in the hospital.
Family Eldercare’s annual Summer Fan Drive meets a critical basic need, relief from life-threatening heat for those who do not have or cannot afford a fan or air-conditioning. Alchemists hosted an office-wide fan drive that they donated to Family Eldercare.
Guelph Food Bank
The Guelph Food Bank’s hamper and excess programs assisted over 26,800 individuals last year. Food bank clients vary in age, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds, but they have one thing in common: they are all faced with financial hardship. The food bank’s goal is help meet client needs in the short term, but also to help them become self-sufficient.
