Every plant has a breakpoint. Most have four.

Join us for The Breakpoint Roundtable Dinner

The Breakpoint Roundtable is an invitation-only dinner with a small group of manufacturing plant leaders and directors who carry the weight you carry, and the Alchemy consultants who've spent decades on floors like yours. Plants fail in predictable places, and the patterns are findable once you know where to look. We'll spend the night comparing notes on what breaks and what's holding.

Plants don't fail all at once. They fail at the seams.

Not because anyone made a bad call. Not because the wrong person was on the line. The cracks that cost a shift, an audit, or a recall happen where the system is at its weakest points. The same handful of places, under the same kind of pressure, in plant after plant.

We call those places breakpoints. The directors who stay ahead of them have learned where their operation gives, and they fix those places on purpose.

Gary Smith, a senior Alchemy consultant with 36 years inside food manufacturing, will walk the table through the breakpoint framework and the patterns he sees most often.

A diagnostic you can use Monday icon

A diagnostic you can use Monday

You leave with language for where your operation breaks, where it's holding, and what to look at first. A framework you can put to work on the next shift.

Agenda for the evening: what to expect.

6:00pm — Drinks and networking

Open bar, hors d'oeuvres, meet the room.

6:30pm — Opening and kickoff

Brief welcome, then Gary Smith walks the table through the breakpoints.

7:15pm — Dinner and open discussion

Conversation over dinner with an open discussion around your operation and the four breakpoints.

7:50pm — Closing

Each attendee leaves with a Breakpoint Field Card.

Find the break before it finds you.

Here are the four most common breakpoints we see in plant after plant. We'll dive into each of them at the table: what they look like, why they happen, and what's worked for the leaders who've closed them.

01.

The Onboarding Breakpoint

When new hires hit the floor before they're truly ready.

02.

The Shift Breakpoint

When the same SOP executes three different ways across three shifts.

03.

The Growth Breakpoint

When the operation grew, but the knowledge holding it together didn't grow with it.

04.

The Pressure Breakpoint

When training holds in normal conditions and breaks the moment the pressure hits.

About your host, Gary Smith

The Senior Director of Consulting at Intertek Alchemy, Gary has spent 36 years inside the food supply chain, occupying nearly every seat at the table: regulator, buyer, manufacturer, auditor, consultant, trainer. He understands everyone's perspective when they come to issues, standards, regulations, and opportunities, and he can speak credibly from each one.

Gary is a recipient of the SQF Distinguished Service Award. He isn't there to present. He's there to walk the table through the breakpoints he sees most often, and to help each director find the ones showing up in their own plant.
