Best Practices for a Successful Onboarding Program

Bonduelle is the leading processor of frozen and canned vegetables in North America and around the globe. Jodi Haggith, People Manager, along with the Strathroy team, continually evolve onboarding practices to help keep employees safer, more productive and build employee engagement improving employee retention. As a seasonal vegetable processor, approximately 100 seasonal workers are onboarded annually including temporary foreign workers. Bonduelle has effectively reduced the number of medical aid incidents and plans to celebrate 3 years of No Lost Time Incidents this year. The team has successfully improved the retention rate in full time employees by 50% and has implemented a development plan program for employees expressing an interest in growing with our company.

With over 30 years of experience in the food industry at companies like Conagra, Kellogg, and Sara Lee, Holly helps Intertek Alchemy to create world class workforce development solutions for large, complex operations within the food industry. Holly has held positions in food safety, quality assurance, sanitation, and plant regulatory affairs. She was honored to receive the Safe Quality Food Institute’s Outstanding Achievement Award, was named one of Food Logistics’ 2016 “Champions of the Supply Chain,” and has served on several working groups with groups like GFSI, and GMA. Holly is passionate about the importance of training in the food industry.

Chance is an experienced digital product manager with expertise in user research and applying design thinking to technical products for a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Intertek Alchemy, Chance served as Senior Program Manager at frog, where he led design programs for clients ranging from Fortune 100 technology companies to stealth-mode transportation startups. He is passionate about user-centric design thinking and uniting quantitative and qualitative data to reveal the comprehensive big picture.
